Operations Management Trainee Program

Our Operations Management Trainee Program is a two-year program designed to give trainees a strong foundation upon which to build their career in Operations Management. The trainees are provided with an overview of all parts of the company, while building up company bench strength in potential future plant operations managers and executives. Upon graduation from training, the trainees will be placed in a plant as supervisors for the entire second year. They will stay in this position until they are developmentally ready to move to another plant position--usually about one to two years.

"When I went into the Graham Rotational Training Program I was fresh out of College and unsure what I wanted to do in my career. This program exposed me to the operations side of the plastic industry and gave me the necessary tools to move forward in my career at an accelerated pace. I was able to go from Supervisor to Plant Manager in six years as a result of the program.”

"I came into the Rotational Training Program with Graham Packaging directly out of college with a Plastics Engineering Degree from Ferris State University. Through my rotations I was able to build valuable contacts/relationships and develop bench strength in a future operations/plant management career with the company. As many of my other classmates have continued to hop from job to job dissatisfied with their work, I have found a home at Graham Packaging and am excited about my career here. I am grateful for the opportunity I was given and am proud to be a part of this team. Trust me, you do not want to miss out on the chance to join the Graham Family."

“The Management Trainee Program that I started in June 2010 has thus far allowed me to connect my Plastics Engineering degree with the roots of production. Not only am I getting a greater understanding on how the production floor operates through these training rotations but I’m developing my managerial skills as well.”
