Concept Development
Research
To better understand the goals of a project, research is conducted in several areas including:
- Ergonomics
- Survey of market competition and trends
- User experience
- Aesthetic inspiration
- New technologies
- Brand attributes
- Color trends
- Package efficiencies
Brainstorming
With thousands of available reference products, open space and natural lighting, Graham has an excellent environment for leading productive brainstorming sessions. During these sessions consideration is given to the inspirational resources identified during the research process and to the conversations we have with the customer.
Sketches
Traditional sketches are a quick and easy way to get conceptual ideas on paper. This stage can be used to clarify direction and present new approaches.
Renderings
As sketches are narrowed down to the most desirable approaches, 2-D renderings are developed showing more refined shapes and color for presentation to the customer. These drawings offer a more consistent comparison between concepts and are more suitable for focus group review.
Form Studies
Early 3-D surface concept ideas are an accurate and volumetrically correct representation that can be viewed from multiple angles. The models can be quickly adapted to changing parameters and considerations.
