Graham Packaging Barriers

Barrier Technologies

Graham utilizes various barriers to protect the products stored in the plastic containers they manufacture. These barriers can be customized and are used with each of the different manufacturing technologies. They are structured as either an active barrier which binds with oxygen and absorbs it, disabling it from passing through the product wall, or as a passive barrier which simply blocks the passage of oxygen through the walls of the product.

The barrier solutions we offer are:
  • CO2
  • O2
  • Mono-layer blends and Multi-layer
  • UV
  • Fragrance
  • Scalping

Graham is the largest producer of PET mono-layer scavenger barrier containers in the world -- 1.3 billion annually.
Graham is the largest producer of PET multi-layer barrier containers in the world -- 700+ million annually.
Graham’s multi-layer infrastructure is capable of switching to mono-layer without any change or investment.
